Why you ask? It is traced to this clause:
he US Presidents will have to certify every 180 days to the US Congress among other things "A description and assessment of the specific measures that India has taken to fully and actively participate in United States and international efforts to dissuade, isolate, and, if necessary, sanction and contain Iran for its efforts to acquire weapons of mass destruction, including a nuclear weapons capability and the capability to enrich uranium or reprocess nuclear fuel and the means to deliver weapons of mass destruction"
The clause is pro-India. We cannot have another nuclear neighbor. China & Pakistan is bad enough.
This clause is the reason why the Left and BSP term the agreement as anti-Muslim. The question is why the BJP joins them in opposing the deal - for a few Muslim votes?
It is to be noted that the US-China nuclear agreement had clauses like human rights in Tibet. Such clauses remain on paper to be violated.
