India 2020, global power 1/14/2005 03:45:00 PM | Permanent Link | Comments (4) If you live in America, I'm sure you've heard about the CIA report dubbing India and China as future economic superpowers, and if you're in India, I'm even more sure you have.
The 2020 vision by the CIA though seems a bit presumptuous, but a vision has to be I guess. The report assumes, if all goes well, i.e. India & Pakistan settle Kashmir, Bodo Land ceases it's demands, the stock index keeps climbing, corruption stays in control, etc. then India will emerge to reach USA's peripheral accomplishments!
It's all possible, it's happening. Such a small aspect as driver's license, which was like getting an expensive magazine subscription, now seems a bit more tedious to just "pull off".
I hate to admit this, but Laloo has suddenly decided to work, and the railways' situation has drastically improved.
Air India has improved it's service too, and we get to see more Indian belles with pleasant smiles than old hags, who're out to harass you, just because you asked for water, when they was serving lunch!
Delhi's flyovers seem to literally multiply every time I return during Fall and Summer breaks.
Though a worthy mention amidst all this is our movie industry, the pseudo famous Bollywood, has picked up points on USA's "Who gets to be the daddy" report. I've seen more good Hindi movies in the past year than I have English, which really means to say, that Bollywood has really improved; mov
