All the left party leaders have amassed wealth one way or the other. If Mr. Putin or his counterpart in China makes their emissary to send in a word to the left party leaders, these guys will wag their tails and support the deal. Do they have any value left, except their personal wealth?

you are absolutely correct. Indian politicians only policy is to fill their personal coffers and make their children their legal heir to their party.
