Indian Ambassador Ronen Sen is a good man with bad vocabulary. That probably has been his undoing . The first time he got hauled up was for calling Indian parliamentrians ( or at least those opposed to the N-deal as 'Headless Chicken" . He ended up wiser to the fact that 'headless chicken' dont liked to called 'headless chicek'. The phantom has struck again by using the potent cliche ' N-deal will be consummated' There are many in India that suspect that the whole N-deal was an attempt to marry India and US interests' and by using a word that has so closely alligned with marriage the Ambassador has chosen only to heighten the confusion on the matter . Hope somebody will gift him a Thesausus!

Well you must be Irish Mr PKN.
In the common sense, Ronen Sen was suggesting 'accomplished' when he talked about consumating the Nuclear deal. In English, if you understand, there are certain connotations and lateral meanings to English.

Good observation. But to give due credit to Mr. Sen, I think this is more of an Editor's gimmick... nowhere has Mr. Sen been quoted as using the peculiar word..
Perhaps a bigger faux-pas on his part is the chest beating announcement that India is most favorable to US (re: "I've been envoy to Russia, UK, Germany.."). So is he saying that we actually despise those countries? Hasn't he made life difficult for the current envoys to those countries?.. .:-)
This is diplomacy at its best.... Congress style.. ;-)
