I am shocked to read some comments on this article. Please know some facts about kidney transplantation laws & medical attention required after & before the surgery 1. One can survive and have healthy and active life even after donating one kidney. 2. Indian law permits, donation from close relative like spouse/parents/siblings only. even if anyone of close relative agree to donate his/her kidney to patients, the documents need to sign by district CMO, SP, DC state Cheif sectary etc. and above all patient has to prove the blood relation by BLOOD MAPPING test which costs somewhat about Rs.30,000/- 3. Before surgery, a lot of tests are required to minimum the rejection of donated kidney by recipient. So if someone say if found his/her kidney found missing when he woke-up is simply lie.

Manish bhai, please read the article carefully - these guys had not been told about any kidney transplant. They came to know it only AFTER the kidney was transplanted.
This is illegal activity and CAN happen with anybody - you or me. And there IS a market for kidneys which runs on such activities.

the test are required for the person who needs kidney and not for the person who donates it. and they cant lie, because it is a big case where a simple nurse can see an MRI and tell that the kidnety is missing or not.

my dear manish - the things as mentioned by you are necesary and needed and are done when the transplant of kidnies is an official transplant between relatives. the things as done by dr amit was " chori " without the prople knowing it - baat kuch samaj me aiye. all things were done unknowingly... hence the things as mentioned were not carried out. also that this is an illegal activity.

Dear mr jojo. my point is 'SUCH SURGERY CAN BE DONE WITH THE PERMISSION OF DONOR( I AM AGREE WITH YOU OPERATION DONE WITHOUT FORMALATY IS IILEGAL) and if one one was agreed before surgery should not claim igorance about it.
