Sena is Directionless
by PKN on Jan 29, 2008 02:37 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Balasaheb Thackeray is an astute politician who realizes that as it stands today he doesnot enjoy the relevance that he did a decade back. The split between his Son and Nephew is cause enough for his party to be come weaker and then die out after him. He has therefore seen a new possiblity by hitching himself to NCP and Pawar ! But whether this is a pipe dream or a merely a ploy to get the BJP to play a secondary role to the Sena is to be seen. But what is to be seen is if Pawar will play ball with him . Pawar may not be as astute or wily as Thackeray is but he is more politcally smart. His alliance with the Congress is working well . Except in Maharastra his clout is limited to being merely an also ran. There is no reason for him to shift alliances .
Modi actually is irrevelent to these moves. The pot shot that the sena chief is taking is just posturing against the BJP!
Even Modi realizes that it is not possible to clone the Gujarat Model on any other state. The bssics of the Gujarat model- development hardcore Hindutva could with a make over work fairly well in every state .

Its not the question of blaming a particular community or the other. Every community has good and bad people and communal disturbances, riots and other tumults are created by the hooligans with their certain objectives in their mind. But, even being a Muslim, I must not forget the story of partition and division of our motherland in to three parts based on religion only. Is it not our responsibility too to bridge the gap with our Hindu brothers instead of blaming them?
