Taslima and India
by akshay gupta on Jan 23, 2008 09:55 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Yet another classical example of India's double standard. On one hand we claim to be the worlds largest democracy and on the other we do not allow freedom of speech. the Congress is simply doing so to please the muslim community and of course they are preparing for Islamic funds in their kitty for use in the next elections. Shame on the Indian Govt that they should treat Taslima like this ; a lady who is telling the truth of the attrocities of the Hindus in Bangladesh and the muslims have the cheek to talk about Gujarat!! Muslims are the most intolerant people in the world and they will always insult all other religions and this is being truthfully conveyed by these people.
India should ideally give Bharat Ratna award to Taslima, grant her Indian citizenship and provide her total security. Shame on Indian Govt for being so stupid.

that is going in the wrong direction. lets respect free speech and ask for both Taslima & MF Hussain the right of expression. Those whose feelings are offended are welcome to protest peacefully or to go to jail if they turn violent. That is the way the constitution meant our laws to work - it is sad that Congress' pseduo secular policies have discredited secularism so badly
