Condolence
by Ranjan on Jan 20, 2008 07:10 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Heartfelt condolences to Mahato's family, as to the Allam and the Komma families.
While it is true that the USA offers great facilities for quality education and research, it is ridiculous idea for ndians to go there only to get killed or to be discriminated against.
Is India incapable of such facilities and quality? Or is there a conspiracy to undermine India's general quality? Are our politicians and businessmen only interested in the money that 'education' of teeming millions can generate, or are they sufficiently motivated to combine their monetary interests with the educational quality our students need? All we see today is talk of quality, and 95% marks obtained from rote learning, but no serious knowldge-building.
Our boys and girls need not go to a foreign country for 'good' education, if our system is toned up. True, people get killed here ,too. But s there any sense in becoming sitting ducks in countries which are full of contempt for India?

850000 students every year come to US to study. Just because of 3 dead, you have cometo a conclusion.

Education doesnt mean how much knowledge we have but how applicable we can be. I would not like to generalise you with Indian education system.
