Fire at Nandram Market
by BHASKAR CHOUMAL on Jan 16, 2008 04:02 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I am wondering, the media thinks Nandram market as barabazar. while it is a part of barabazar. In all news channel, websites etc. only the picture of Nandram market is being shown , no one is showing the fire around this market and no one is telling what actually happened in the locality around , what is the situation around. People who are not presently in kolkata is seeing only nandram market. Poor media coverage. Everyone is saying shops around 2500 , while actual loss is more than 4000 shops ,no one is featuring pagiya patti, tarpaulin bazar around nandram market. Media is concentrating only on this building.

Media has johnny come lately journos who know little. gone are the days of in depth journalism. Nowadays it is show business. Maybe a burning building sells better than cluttered shops.
