It's most unfortunate that City of Joy, which was once upon a time recognized as seat of intellectuals and industrialization has become completely bankrupt due to the long misrule of CPM. Now the city is paying a heavy price for the sins of Nandigram. I am not trying to bring in superstition here but the vents of last few days are pointers towards that. May be WB needs to do Bhoot shanti by getting rid of commies forever?

because some of our bhais (read businessmen citizens residing in burrabazar) pay scant respect to environment and other duties as expected from any well to do and responsible citizen.you see how they have systemetically destroyed even the base environment of burra bazar!!! it's mind boggling to even think of stacking 13th floor rooms with imflabale items and turning them into godowns(read LIVE BOMBS) and then expecting CPIM guv to quench the same within few hours!!! so much so for hoarding and blck marketeering!!! what will happen to the adjoining shanties (which have also burnt out because of the arrogance of the moneyed business people READ TRADERS.

this type of fire cannot be quenched even with Carbon di-oxide.forget about water, chemicals and foam.there has to be some limit.if people cross their limit they will get their due share.this is what exactly the destiny of burra bazar.it tripped and the same could happen again!!! blaming guv and fire brigade is no excuse

don't talk like a stupid when it comes to bengal.you may hate cpim but that' not yhe excuse to talk nonsense in the most irresponsible manner. industrialisation is going wild in bengal and no nandigrams can stop it.don't even think that your comments will malign bengal's pro-development image!!!even narendra modi and other bjp and mamta banerjee type big shots failed.and this could happen because of the following reasons 1 CPIM's strong organisational capabilities and political maturity 2.bengal's strong resilience 3.complete political stability in bengal 4.all round progress under jyoti basu's and buddhadev's tenure. 5.bengal's pro-scientific and intellectual temper along with mind blowing creATIVITY (read TALENT) the same anti-communist bla bla got into fire in CHINA.the future will be for BENGA aka chinese style.

WB is a developing state and it is going to be like that may be for another 50 yrs. I hope by that time most of the Indian states will take over and west bengal will be behind.
This is all because of irresponsible act of political parties. Mr. Basu have ruined the state and now Mr. Bhattacharya is trying to do something but how the habit and beliefs of common people will change overnight.
These people called themselves Marxist and they don't even believe in it. They are capitalist and all the members have enough money and power in their pockets as 80 % people of Bengal live in villages and it is easy to brain wash their brains. - Damage has been already done and now we are trying to construct with ashes. Please note other political parties are also good for nothing.
How do you expect that a party who named - Rabindranath Tagore & Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as " BURJUYA " will do good for their own people.
yes, they have a good controlong power and they know the tricks how to run an Organisation. Poor illeterate village people are their machinery only.

1 CPIM's strong organisational capabilities and political maturity - We can see that in Nandigram , don't we? 2.bengal's strong resilience - This has nothing to do with CPM. It's coming from their traditional high education background and rich culture. Your rogue CPM goondas are trying their level best to destroy it. 3.complete political stability in bengal - through the power of barrel, so no one else except CPM can win the elections 4.all round progress under jyoti basu's and buddhadev's tenure. - That's utter BULLSH@T. Can you tell how many new industries have come to WB? 5.bengal's pro-scientific and intellectual temper along with mind blowing creATIVITY (read TALENT) - Again nothing to do with CPM. Infact Bengalis are some of the most talented people in India and unfortunately they have to leave WB to achieve success.
Trust this helps. It's nice to support a party , however supporting it blindly will lead you into a blackhole as poor people of Nandigram found out recently. So keep your eyes open and reflect.

Mr.sanjeev dhiman, I am not a political supporter of any one. But will like to tell that the recent developments in Bengal is not because of CPM. Its because of a different positive attitude of Mr.Buddhadeb Bhattacharya. He deserves kudos. Moreover, China's CPM and Bengal's CPM are not same. Everyone knows it. Bengal's CPM is only Votebank minded.

You forget to mention the name of "Real Banga Santan Dr. BC Roy - the symbol of development" who had given all things to Bengal. Please do'nt compare you now-a-days so-called "Big Big politicians" with Dr. BC Roy. Yes, you can definitely compare Shri Narendra Modi, Smt. Vasundhara Raje or Shri Vilas Rao Deshmukh with him, but not with Shri Jyoti Basu/Shri Budhdhadev Bhattacharya.

Mr. Prashant I appreciate your concerns and agree to your views. You are right. Once regarded as the most "intelligent" and most "forward"ed city now is nothing better than a neglected city. Rise, the people of the land, and march ahead to become again the most bright city. Its not by blaming the CPM that we can do good, Its by using our capabilities that we can do good.
