I am not sure why you have double standards everywhere. What about the thousand animals which are slaughtered everyday on the name of non-veg food! If you can kill them why not let these folks enjoy what they are doing since centuries. Or killing is better for these animals.... everyone who is non vegetarian has no right to favor these kind of verdicts...

even plants have lives as was discovered and proved by the Indian scientist JagdishChandra Bose...so if you are so much concerned about taking lives..stop eating vegetarian food too!

People like you who harp against non-vegetarians are strange. When you are eating vegetables, grown on farmlands and fruits from trees, incidentally who also fall under the criteria of living beings, are you not cutting and harvesting from the living beings ? Is it not cruelty to ampute and eat and relish. Just because these trees suppossedly cannot talk, move or convery feelings its alright to do so ? And if you finally see my point of view, prescribe what should people eat ?

There is not a single word of comment from the supreme court or the so called secularist when it comes to butchering cows by muslims. In jallikattu, the bulls are not killed not tortured. In every jallikattu, people are injured and not the bulls. Then where does the statement "cruelty on animals" come into picture. It is a silly north Indian act, trying to curb the freedom and happiness of south Indians. In north, there is a country sport where bulls drag a cart for 2 miles ad the people on the cart continuously whip the animal. May be in the eyes of north Indians, this is love towards animals. How about horse race where extreme cruelty is shown on horses. The horses are given alcohol and continuously whipped during the race. May be in the eyes of north Indians, these are kindness to animals.
