Many ignorant authors shoot down DRDO
by Kannan on Jan 21, 2008 09:40 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Bharat Verma joins the club of lunatics who try to pull down DRDO. Developing first world technology in a third world country is very hard. The denial regimes meant that even small components have to be indigeneously researched and manufactured.

Yes its easy to import and thats what some in the armed forces too want. Imports mean kickbacks, something not available with indigenously produced armaments.

The author may not know this, at one time even ordinary off the shelf PC's were put under export restrictions. And he is talking about international alliances

The author is just another guy sponsored by foreign arms manufacturers interested in promoting their interests. Rediff is better off not carrying these idiotic articles

No one stopped you from being self-sufficient. That's why DRDO was set up. Why should the U.S. allow you a free ride while you are constantly abusing them? Develop your own components. You don't know how to make a simple resistor to MIL specs!
