Of course I ask myself why superstition is so widespread and why 99.99% of people believe in some form of God. Because of uncertainty and death, people cannot cope with the absoluteness of non-existence. So they invented an after-life and gods because it is useful. who said, atheists are 1% of the world population? Infact atheists and irreligious are fourth or fifth largest grouping in the world.

Yes, I know. An estimated 15% of world's population are irreligious atheists. I have only quoted Lord Meghnad Desai. This is not my opinion.
