He must be given, more especially, he has recently invented, that capitalism is must, and socialism (communism), cannot survive. For this great economic theory alone he can be given whatever ratna he wants. But do not belittle Vajpayee, by giving what you have given to Rajiv Gandhi and what you are planning to give to Jyoti Basu.He ruled West Bengal for 25 years, and nobody was even prepared to start tea stall in West Bengal, leave alone big industrial investments. Vajpayee should be treated on par with rajiv Gandhi and Jyoti Basu. He does not deserve beliittling.
