FBI has sided with Sinhalese government just on the basis of US getting concessions from Sri Lankan government. FBI and CIA know about Tsunami relief money that made Sinhalese rich in many areas. It knows about treatment of Tamils by Sinhalese before all the troubles. Whilst on behest of Saudi it helped Kosovans achieve separate state from Serbia, here they are serving Sinhalese masters. To them treament and harrassment of Tamils in Sri Lanka does not matter. These Americans therefore were terrorist when they fought the British for Indendance.

Actually the FBI and CIA aint straight forward.
They wanted to establish a base in South China Sea and they cannot align with both India and China. So they choose Srilanka and openly supported the miliants.
Rajiv Ghandi's assasination was carried by LTTE on the instructions of US - apparently rascals like Chandraswamy and Subramainam Swamy being chief culprits.
Next they changed their stance and supported the Srilankan government and trained their Navy Seals but still they were losing the battle.
Now they have accelerated their support to SriLankan government to make the region more unstable
