if srabs are so great and sintifically advanced why they are licking US boots to drill their oil wells and get royalty only.instead they would have done on their own. these muslims hate America and still use their products.RSS never hate America they practice patriatism. Nowhere in the article is it mentioned that Muslims laid the foundation of modern science. The statement you are referring to is as follows and i quote.. "But the foundations of modern science were laid long before this time, and were particularly influenced by Islamic civilization. The Muslims were the leading scholars between the seventh and fifteenth centuries, and were the heirs of the scientific traditions of Greece, India and Persia"
They were the "heirs" of scientific traditions. which means muslims alrady got the necessary knowledge from the great civilizations mentioned above and razed them to the ground, branded everything as islamic and lo and behold!!!1 we have a new science...Its the basics Stupid..

Guys this speech is given on the pontifical academy and dont expect the speaker to make grand statements Let me tell you one thing.Muslims learnt from Hindus,Greek and persians.I dont deny this This is the spirit of Islam and thats how different civilizational greats were fused together..

Its true that the west knew the knowledge of science from the Middle east countries but the truth is that the knowledge is transfered from India to west through the middle east. The number system which we r using today are called Indo arabic numrals and also the so called pythagorus theorem is first proved by an indian 'Bodhyan'. Also araybhatt was the first person who told that earth revolves around the sun.He also found out the distance between earth and sun.He had discribed all this his book.Also the value of pie is first given by indian.There are many instances of indian history from which we can imagine the how strong they r in science n maths. Trignometry,surgery and many other things were there in indian text. Chankya was called the first economist in the world history charak sanhita written by charak is having knowledge of medical science. So we can not say that Indian were anywhere ingnorent in science n maths with there contemporaries, even they were way ahead of them.

I am proud thousand times as a Indian who have the legacy of great inventions like Number System,Zero or great mathematical miracles such as solving quadratic equations. I will also say , you bigots know nothing about Islam except hate.The recent events are not representtaive of my faith thats why i refered umpteen resources like HP,MAA,Nature Magazine and so many other credible universities. The fact that Muslims learn t many think from India doesn't discount the spirit of Islam which infused that inquisitiveness which made the foundations of modern science..
