For example see this link
An artcile written by Keith devlin, who is the current executive director of standford mathematical society and fellow of american mathematical association and a popular author of great many research books says "Islam kickstarted science" in the prestigious Mathematical Association of America

Ample evidence of what?Muslims learnt from many civilizations, because that is the spirit of Islam. No one denies that.
But dont make a stupid statement by saying Hindus stored everything in a harddisk and muslims copied it and distributed it.
Science doesnt grow that way..

I wish you could understand the message of the two articles. The Ottoman empire is cited as an example of shining glory and that too at a time when Europe wasnt as enlightened as it is today.By which way, the only reason the Ottoman empire is cited as a shining example of governance is because of the "caucasian-centric" view of the speaker/writer.The conditions in the region of India then were as good or better than the empire under scrutiny. And,note, that the scholars merely preserved the knowledge developed in India and ancient Greece. We all know the story of the arabs taking the concept of "Zero" to europe. The messenger is being worshipped and the inventor sidelined.I am not entirely discounting the Ottoman empire's achievements. But they are not representative of Islamic philosophy.

Ofcourse we have only a meager 3 muslims scientists among hundreds
But these people forget the fact that
Nobel prize was established only in the last century at a time Muslims lands are
occupied by colonisers. Ask this question to yourself..
How many Nobel prize newton won?
How many Leonardo davinci won?
How many Bernollie won?
you will understand the stupidity of your question

"By and large, the early mathematical work done by Arabic scholars was predominantly practical, and not very deep -- certainly nothing like the mathematics of the ancient Greeks a thousand years earlier. Nevertheless, the subject appears to have been viewed as important and prestigious. Early Islamic scholars imported to Baghdad books on astronomy and mathematics from India."
DEVLIN is not an idiot. You are missing his point .Take a lesson in reading and comprehension.
