I am perplexed as suddenly how environmentlists appeared to oppose to this project,as they feel this would affect marine life. I appreciate, if they can provide us any environmental impact assessment study report, recently carried out which has proved major adverse effect on marine Environment.

I odnt think this project is a good idea not because of religious reasons but because it will not provode much savings.. no big tankers can cross, repeated dredging will be needed and tankers coming from long distances will not be saving much time... overall more hassle and cost than benefits. This project doesn't seem to justify the benefits with costs. Government should publish all its plans and cost benefit analysis for people so that they can clearly understand the logic behind it

Yes, Hanuman act is also as good as Prophet Mohammad ascending heaven to meet Allah by ladder or rope. Please do not ridicule beliefs of others. You muslims will kill any fellow who act as Mohammad (in order to show his good deeds) citing nonsense written from texts. No wonder, there is no film on Prophet Mohammad and his good work.

At least it is better than praying Muhhamed. We are praying someone who acts were good which itself state that we praise the good.Look who you are idolizing as....

Please tell us the immense economic gain... No big tanker can cross the channel and it is clearly well stated. Also repeated dredging needs to be undertaken due to sand silts being formed by frequent cyclones. Only small Indian ships can cross and that too it takes hell lot of time to be pulled via the channel. They are better off circumventing Sri Lanka

Ram setu cannot be touched.Congress(Sonia) and Karunanidhi will be in big trouble if they dare to hurt moderate Hindus to appease terrorist muslims.

I am also perplexed as to why you assumed that environmentalists started objecting on this today. The truth is that they have objected ever since the the project was initailly disussed. Now with the UPA getting ready to implement it they have merely beocme more vocal. When it comes to making such major changes in the environment it is important an environmental impact study is done before the project is approved . Not that the government goes ahead and environmentalist have the task of proving the action as being injurious to the environment.
