Good Politician!

All salient points indicate signs of a good politician. Politicians don't deserve awards, Great leaders do. Vajpayee is far from a great leader. He did not stop the killing of a million innocents, did not stop dividing the nation on religious lines. He did not do anything significant during his rule or other times that changed the course of the country, nor did he give a quantum jump in its progress. He was a mute spectator to the gory games of his sangh parivar colleagues.
If ever BR is given to Atal, the award would look cheap like a lolly pop in a petty shop.

Why Nehru never uttered a word against world's worst religious persecution of hindus/sikhs/buddhists in pak?

By never condemning islamic facism, people like u are pushing hindus to the corner.

Tathgata Mukherjee, While you may have a point there but Unmai points too are very true. Though Bajpai is one of the good politicians. But Bharat Ratna ? NO! No politician should be given BR. This demand is Advani's stunt to put congress in a spot and take political milage. Remember elections are round the corner.

advani is ill advised ... usne ek locha jinnah kee chaat ke kiya that ub vajpayee kee chaat raha hai ... he doesn't put congress in spot ... congress spokesman has said that awards are not politically motivated ... sonia, manmohan chup hein ... advani boal ke chup ho jaayega

congress ka kyaa jaata hai ... election ke pehle vajpayee ko de denge bharat ratna ... agar pehle ludak gaya to marnoprant ... ek award hee toh hai naa ... kya farak padhta hai ... koi 100 crore toh naheen maang raha na congress se ... jo dene mein naani yaad aaye.

True, much more aggressiveness is required.
But thank BJP's founder SP mukherjee that you don;t have to carry Indian passport to visit Kashmir.

Kashmir is oldest rallying cry of rightwing nationalists in India. And will always remain so.

I dont think anyone would dispute the fact that Kashmir is an integral part of India. And that sentiment is shared by Muslims too. I wonder why Kashmir is always used as a stick to whip Indian Muslims.
