logical
by Tyler Durden on Jan 10, 2008 12:37 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

since we are 2nd largest populus country in the world...it logically follows that we have more psychopath perverts roaming in our midst.

if u travel in any crowded buses or trains or for that matter just stand in any place teeming with people u would find lusty hands foraying in search of women's body.

its the responsibilty of women to avoid these surroundings and that of the police too to apprehend the culprits as soon as possible.

but there no need for the hyper-active media to jump in and project the country in bad light.
sure, the guilty must be castigated but they do not deserve undue coverge which may create a perception that india is full of perverts.

Agreed we have more or as many perverts in India as in the west. Agreed that any woman who has travelled in any sort of public transportation in India would know how the sick minds of some men works. But it is NOT the responsibility of the woman to avoid these surroundings. We do not live in a medieval society, we live in a modern society, which should have some semblance of law and order. Women do have to travel to get to work and other places and it is impossible to avoid situations like that. It is the duty of the police to apprehend, prosecute and punish these perverts in a timely manner and it is very much the duty of a responsible media to report these issues. It is not about projecting the country in bad light, it is about reporting news and shaming these perverts. The media also needs to aggressively highlight incidents involving Indian women and not merely foreign tourists.
