Hinduism was never a religion. It was a social order. Hindutva is not about hinduism its about looking at the world in a particular way that some people think is Indian. Hinduism or paganism existed all the way from arabaia to the northern tip of australia. Geo-political and religious changes occur over a period of hundreds of years. So in the past few hundred years hinduism has been limited to a very small land mass in the world. It has been on the decline from hundreds of years and its still declining because hinduism does not offer an ideology. The best arguments made by hindus is that Xians are evil, Islam is evil and thats why you should be hindu. :-)
Well this wont stop the decline of hinduism. One has to accept that hinduism is on its last leg after a marathon run of thousands of years. How many of you think that hinduism would be dominant religion after 100 years in India ? No one. Its a constant process of messages conveyed by way of media that will change the way a common indian thinks.
