This family has got enough undue publicity and has turned crazy. who are they that a report need to be produced for satisfying them? How does it matter if Rizawnur's mother accepts something or not? Are they supreme law in this world? I do not know what these guys' problems are, may be they are not satisfied with the amount money they have received from Todis. These people are puppets in the hand of media and telling what media teaches them to say.. More than deserved publicity have turned their heads but soon media will find another topic and bengal media finds one each everyday.. and these people will come to the streets. It is high time a case should be registered against them for misleading public emotion for the sake publicity and financial gain.
And finally to media, these type of cases happen everyday in numbers in India. This is how our society is where parents do have say in child's marriage. 80% of hindi movies till early 2000 had this topic only..Just do not unnecessarily publicise this just because you want to encourage the business of some candle makers.

u people are so sick??? hope some day ur nearer n dearer get the same fate as rizwanur.. then i will ask u how do u feel losing ur beloved ones in a cruel manner... We Indians can be so rude and nasty i never thought of it.. i had read the comments and what i understood is just that you people have no emotions for any one killed out side of your family.. so i pray and hope that sooner or later you people should taste the death of your family members whom you love the most... to me you people are already dead!!!

amit, you may be upset at comments which are insensitive, like I am upset too. But that does not mean you can wish that someone else dies. Are we talking about an eye for an eye?
We have to be compassionate......and i agree with Harmohan.....however terrible it might be, we have not right to interfere in a marriage between two adults unless there was coercion in it.
We should involve ourselves more in the lives of our children so that they understand the rights and wrongs. Very often, in todays world, we do not have time for our children and hence they go astray.
Anyway, whatever the case, we are no one to judge. Let us just pray that the people involed find healing.

Hello Ashish, Noted your comments. Are you writing all these under the influence of HASHISH or GANZA!! You could have felt the pain if you had lost some of your dearest one like Rizwanur's mother had. It is no media hype, and for your kind information, all the Calcuttans are not that fool to light candles everyday right from the morning to late hours in the night. It was a mark of protest which compelled the Chief Minister to hand over the case to CBI for proper investigation and justice, while his CPM followers wanted to hush up the case once and for all. So it is my advice to you to judge the matters on merit and not like a blind supporter of a party.

I was surprised to read this message. We, the people of Kolkata, rallied round this cause since we thought that a grievous wrong was done to this young man. No man, however powerful, is entitled to interfre into the marriage of two adults. We strongly condemn those who did that, and seek their punishment. The logic "that these cases happen" is no excuse. Even female foeticide happens in India. That does not mean that it is normal.

What do you mean by we? some self claimed intellectuals do not form We. THis is the problem with you people. you think Anandabazar coverage is West bengal. Every parents do deserve the right to explain to their own kids what they are doing wrong and parents need to handle infatuation. offcourse it would have been wrong if Rizwanur was murdered or physically abused etc. But we all along knew nothing like that happened. All that happened is a father's effort to see her daugher happy.
God forbids, if you have a daughter or sister and she elopes with a rickshaw puller and that too from a differenr religion, you will understand the pain of Todi.
And I pray to God, these intellectuals (who do nothing but protest and for whom bengal is suffering) are shown the day and their hypocracy comes to light.
1)I have strong objectipon to you comparing a student from St. Xaviersthe(One top 2 colleges in kolkata) of /St.Lawrence and earning a honest livelihood as a graphic designer as a rickshawpuller.
2)The law will not understand the pain of Todis, it will teach them the price of taking the law in their own hands.Even abetement to suicide is considered as a crime.
3)At the end, just imagine the plight of the poor girl.
THE TODIS SHOULD HAVE REALIZED THAT THIS IS NOT PAKISTHAN OR GUJRAT WHERE YOU CAN KILL A PERSON ON THE BASIS OF HIS RELIGION AND GET AWAY.

What makes you think that I will curse my fate if my near one marries someone from a different religion? In fact, one of them did. For your info, the man who died in the instant case was not a rickshaw-puller. Even if he was a rickshaw-puller, does the Indian laws give the right to anyone to interfere into the legal marriage of a rickshaw-puller?
