spineless and spiritless government
by Subbu Mani on Jan 04, 2008 11:32 AM   Permalink

There is no co-ordination and cooperation between the Centre and the State Governments in tackling the Naxal issue. Naxalism is like a cancerous wound and once it consolidates itself, it tends to metastasize and spread to other conducive areas. We can see the shining path of Naxals from Nepal to Bihar, Jarkhand, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh till Tamilnadu. Bigger states with resources and Weaponry like Andhra Pradesh are able to contain the menace. But small states like Jarkhand and Chattisgarh are feeling it impossible to tackle naxals. The slogans like "Naxalism should be viewed from the angle of Socio-economic, political issues and etc etc" are just rubbish talk of Naxal sympathizers. It should be viewed from Law and order angle. If it is not contained in time, the manace will gradually spread to entire India. The Centre must shed its indifferent attitude towards the states and must become active partner in tackling the issue. The Centre must immediately deploy Army and paramilitary troops and it must co-ordinate with the state forces and totally eliminate the extremists and anti-nationals. Its now or never or else India will be a failed state like Nepal.
