what a shame...
by selva on Jan 02, 2008 06:22 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

We talk a lot about Indian culture, and respecting women, etc.

On one hand, youth joined hands in teaching a good lesson to the scumbags (politician/or their relatives).
On the other hand, 4 people, two men and two women could not walk on the street of the new year's eve, the two men beaten away, and the two girls abused, and their dresses torn into pieces.

would u like ur mother or sister to have such a new year's start ?

why do we live in a double standard, third rate mentality towards women?

Because my dear selva , if u look around , then women of today are equally to be blamed . First these so called hapless women wear revealing outfits and hang out with boyfriends at odd hours and at odd places , then , if something ontoward happens with them , then , an issue is raised . What double standards, first of all , parents should control their daughters specially in the manner they drees up(or down!!!) before stepping out of home . I'm not saying that girls shud be covered in a Burqa (i knew some guys wud raise this !!!) , nobody wore a Burqa in my family also . But at least girls shud dress up decently without revealing and titillating the onlookers. I guess that'll solve the problem faced by women as far as eveteasing is concerned.
