My experience is opposite.

I had gone to Germany on a company trip. While passing through security check a person the police asked me where is your laptop? I said I did not have one. He asked again? Where is your laptop? I said I am not carrying it on this tour. He surprisingly stared at me and said....AN INDIAN WITHOUT A LAPTOP!!!...AMAZING!!!
So not all in every country think India is backward country and land where every other person is a snake chrmer, elephants roam on roads and people disappear in sky doing the rope trick. May be ten years back what Dhruv says was true...

Andrew James(or something)(I do not remember the exact name) of GE said in a recent interview. "Thank God, I have India on my side, With India on my side I feel like a turtle. i.e.India is my armour" This he said while answering question on US sub-prime crisis

The persons who r exposed to indians think correctly abt india, but people who are not exposed to indians directly still have those old notions abt india.

Rajat, maybe u have written too many posts on the same day.Take a breather...dont write another one for the next, well for as many days as u can.U r so repetetive that reading yr posts will cause eye problems. Also u r very anti India....another reason yr posts shd be avoided.U have written nothing new...about the negative aspects of India. All Indians are aware of it.Why dont u write something positive?I can assure u tht u dont need a microscope to find some positive aspects. But first get rid of the disgust and bitterness within u,its eating u up.

Thanks Sanchita ,You didn't say i lied.Public tolerence for truth is too little...i can make out from your moderated comments. However what shocked me is your conclusion that all these facts are old & known to people...i am confused then...still they feel we are not to be made fun of !!!I wrote negatives as a reason for little boy's questions ...all this makes us a laughing stock as a nation ...there are forums with suitable audience to discuss finest indian arts, cultures, traditions ... however it would have been out of place as response to the title of the item above. If all this does not make indians irritated, bitter, hurt & responsive ... probably we are dead.May be one does not feel all this so intensly if one is staying in India alongwith indians around...
