What are the so-called learned, intelligent, and rational thinking Indian doing? Everyone should have fate no doubt, but such ridiculous beliefs and customs, one won%u2019t find anywhere on earth!!!
Tell me what we don%u2019t worship; stones, rocks, cows, bulls, (Pig..I really don%u2019t know), drink and sprinkle cow%u2019s urine, stones molded in the shape of monster penis and bathe in milk, monkey god, elephant gods,%u2026.The list goes on..endless and unthinkable. What is worshiped in one state, is not heard of in the other.. Who is considered a demon (ravana) is revered by others somewhere else. Crossfire%u2026 No offense meant

The sentiments that you express are found also in the religious literature produced by innumerable saints of India. What you are talking about are the ritual. That always throws up innumerable contradictions because they are meant for those who are unable to understand the philosophical roots of religion. To understand the significance of these rituals to those for whone these are meaningful, you have to sympathise with their point of view first rather than taking an antagonsitic stand. I believe that if someone believes that the bridge was actually built by Rama, whatever my own convictions, I would say he is welcome to it. Was Babri Masjid actually built by Babar? How right were they who destroyed temples? Why not convert people by force or bribe to what one believes to be the true religion? The reason is we should tolerate others' sentiments even if they appear to be unreasonable to us.
