Instead of buying outdated junk, India should spend money on research that will lead to hi-tech aircrafts. This way, we are not dependent on anyone and might be able to sell a few crafts to other countries!

abhee agar USA muft mein de (becasue they will have no good use for it after it is decomissioned in 2009) toh kyon naheen le India ?

There is no thing called as free lunch my dear..!!
This is similar to Microsoft giving softwares for free and earning billions on their maintenance..!!
US just wants buyers..be the product as Coke..or Millitary equipments..!!
I am not against going for any such deal..but just would like to make this point that nobody gives anything for free..so beware of what you are getting into..!!

I totally agree.Our soldiers need weapons to defend our country. What good is a huge army if it ain't got any teeth. Developing new weapons platforms takes decades. We should purchase these second hand equipment till we can build our own, to keep our enemies in check!
