rajiv may have had a point when he started working on this article several days back. there has been all sorts of conjectures on obama but the candidate is just way too slippery-smart. obama was the president of "harvard review" at harvard university - clearly, it takes a lot of smarts for that. a law professor, obama taught constitutional law at harvard and knows the u.s. poliitcal establishment inside out. the man is phenomenally quick with his wits, marshaling all sorts of facts to score knockout debating points. his cool friendly personality and brilliance have won tons of endorsements from the powerfuls in usa. although the conservative media have underscored his islamic roots and his islamic middle name, and even sounded alarms at his church priest's anti-semitism, a lot of jews support obama, and that support has only grown. thus, no charge on obama has stuck. the media has been very favorable to him - in my view, partly so because he is black.
the charge that obama is all talk and no action - a favorite theme of hillary - too evaporates easily when obama coolly and confidently lists his accomplishments and explains his policies. hillary may be well rehearsed master of details, but obama comes across as the guy who can bring smart people together and get the job done. it is to be noted being issue-smart alone does not help - obama is quick to point out hillary's infamous debacle on health care when she was first lady.
