dump nuclear power and India-US nuke deal
by Sameer on Feb 27, 2008 03:47 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Nuclear power is so 20th century and frought with risks.

Develop solar, wind, geo thermal energy- clean, cheap in the long run, ideally suited for Indian conditions. Solar especiallly is perfect for Indian villages-no transmission issues, prices of solar panel falling like rocks, durable.

India needs no nuke deal with US. Work on complete nuclear disarmament, until then keep a few to keep vultures like USA away and use it as a bargaining chip.

Do you have any idea about the current energy status in the world. All those things may sound good. The developed states like UK has tried, and now they are again going for nuclear. Its not that easy kid...

and about nuclear weapon. are you happy keeping you weapon in a cold storage. Mind it, no country would ever dare use the nuclear weapon in this world again. US is not going to force India for disarmament. If you like you can keep your weapon in the cold storage. Its of no problem to any one.
