I say lets sign the deal and get what we want out of it. Remember the USA is doing this as they see opportunity to tap Indian power market worth 100's of billions of dollars. Its all about the money. Let us make ourselves economically indespensible to the world - just like China is today. China can do any thing- I say anthing, but no one in the west or elsewhere will so much as whimper. China can support N. Korea, have land disputes with Japan or Ruissia, sell missile / Nuclear technology to Pak, threaten to invade Tiwan, shoot down satellites or eye land of Indian NE. YET YET every government in the West is thrusting their hips seductively for China's favour. Why? its all for the money and trade. I say lets get ourselves into that postion. Once let us open up our power sector for US, France, UK or Russia to invest here and make money, all the while we get power and grow our economy. Let us have $100B trade with the US and $50Bn trade with France, Uk and Russia each. The day after we do that we can explode 101 nuclear bombs - and I can bet all these governments will say is 'well done.. can we join you?'. Guys, I say let us have faith in ourselves and in our strength! no one can do dadagiri or dictate terms to us if they see that not participating in Indian economy will harm them.
