Granted nuclear deal is skewed in favour of US and other western countries, but what alternatives?
We are 70% dependent on Middle East oil, much more than most including China. China has no qualms doing business with their supposed arch enemies. They win over with their soft power and others bend backwards to do business with them. They are streets ahead with a permanent seat in the US Security Council and dictates to us, being in the Nuclear Suppliers Group. We have to go with heads bowed to get the crumps after the insatiable demands of China are met. Australia's prosperity is now hinged firmly on Chinese demand for minerals including uranium. Our comrades, with dog in the manger policy, seems to have no clue.
The alternate energy is miniscule the world over. The solar energy is still in its infancy and costs three times that from oil. Unless we can agree on the basics, we can all share in the misery and may be the leftists will then declare victory.
The end game is easy to predict. Oil runs out and we cannot source it at any price. Even our scientists are for the deal as no other viable alternatives exist. The poorest of the poor will suffer as the rich and educated can leave at will when the situation becomes hopeless. The commies will stand and watch like when they did when the Keralites left to save their souls.
National interests, what is that anyway? We can only recycle endlessly the used fuel, like the leftists do with their useless theories.

Karl Marx,
The practise of communism by China is practical. Their Petro China is the most valued company in the world with market capitalisation of $1 trillion, more than double that of the second best. They forge ahead with private intiatives in collaboration with US majors. Vietnam is following suit. Cambodia lost quarter of its population thirty years ago under Pol Pot, practising maoist peasant uprising. They are just getting up with others' help.
The communism that exist here benefits only the organised unions who hold others especially the poorest to ransom.
Our comrades will see to it that we are all doomed. I mean, the poorest of the poor as the rich & educated can just leave for better pastures.
