The same western powers have been crying for democracy in Pakistan, and now that its taking shape, they want a single person (puppet) to be their point of contact. This is a sweet joke.
But then, there could be other hidden things. Musharraf might know the password for the nuclear weapons in his country. Till they strip him of that, he will be their best bet.
