Tigers
by Paul Rufus on Feb 23, 2008 04:08 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I have stopped reading these articles for some time now. I have resigned to the fact that these magnificent animals are living in borrowed time only.
I used to go for tiger census also at one time. I have seen them from very close quaters. Sad to say the root cause of this problem is same the ugly face of our politicians. People living around such parks get away with anything because they have voting power not the tiger. Rangers are beaten mercilessly if they stop these people entering the forest. If tigers kills one cow/buffalow you can rest assure that villages will kill ten tigers and will get away because the political leaders are with them.
I feel privilage that I saw these tigers in wild but I cannot say this thing about the future genrations.
SAD

Just feeling sad is not a solution. We should do something against it.

Yes I share your disgust about the manner in which an arrogant two legged beast called the Homo Sapian destroys the flaora and fauna based on a belief that he has the first right on all the resources that this planet has to offer.
Only the stupid would even suspect that politicians will step in correct this. Their priority doesnot include the wildlife unless beasts are also given voting rights.
So is there hope of survival for the wildlife . Prima Facie no but more going deeper there is one . Mother nature , please dont confuse it with God , has a thumb rule of destroying any species that refuses to work within her template.
With global warming , Ozone layer depletion, weather changes etc the issue of future generations have the previlage of seeing the tiger may not be relevent . Even if the tigers could miraculously be saved there maybe no "future generation' around to have the previlage to see them.
Man must correct his anti nature stand and fall into the template that was created for every single thing animate or otherwise on the earth. If he doesnot do so nature would simply shrug him off!
