What is happening?
by --- on Feb 23, 2008 04:38 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

One day there is an article about Bangalore, and immediately there are flame wars about Bangalore. Next day it is about Maharashtra. Youngsters today forget that once upon a time (after independence) it was Bihar and UP that were not only rich, but also contributed the most to the treasury. Then there is an article that says most fake resumes come from AP, and immediately there is Telugu bashing. Looks like all people in every state in India are against every other state. Should it not be the other way round? Never in the history of India have so many people moved around inside as well as outside India. Should not we learn to appreciate and tolerate one another? Are not all Indians and Indian languages equal? I think that is what the SC is trying to convey.

If the young Indian does not speak against what is wrong with India, who will? Rememember before the British colonization, India was among the richest country in the world.
Everybody need to speak out against what is wrong with India, and work toward change, not juts the youngsters.

Well said sir, our nation fabric is based on cast, creed, color, relegion and above all the language we speak. There is wide spread discrimination in our work places based on the city/state/region and what language you speak. This is pathetic and speaks voulme of how complex this nation of india is.
