Grand coalition, good for the country.
by viswanatha seshadri on Feb 22, 2008 03:23 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

If the two largest parties in parliament join together to get more than clear majority, disempowering small parties, it is good for the country, implying real democracy, will of people prevailing. It is like the INS and BJP in indian parliament coming together to form coalition govt, disempowering vested interest groups like the marxists, dmk/pmk, lallus, paswans and so on. Country's real interests will be addressed, progress over last 4 yrs much better. Good luck for pakistan!

I agree with you. In India, Congress and BJP should at least support each other on issues of national importance. BJP could have supported congress on the nuclear deal ... but they were agianst it even before they read teh document.

In pakistan, the common enemy in Musharaff has united the two parties and hopefully, they will together kick his buttt in public.
