I know your type guy, no arguments will do good. There is no imposition of Hindi at all.
But you will live in interesting times, exploited by CHOAS, VOLATILITY, CONFUSION that your politician will make by inciting fear in you!! Live in those interesting time and be fodder for Thacrey, Karunanidhi, etc.

You know we have not intent to harm them and it never was. Infact, I never knew about Bengali, Marathi, keralite neighbors until I could associate their names to their region when I arrived to Maharastra.

DS, I know your problem... The problem is that other state guys dictating what we should learn in our state... we don't dictate other state and we don't want to be dictated by other state fellows.

how is it dictating if our politician wants our language to be made mandatory in our state schools ? if you like it take it otherwise leave. all people have love for their language. many northies debate me on hindi and tamil, but when i tell them hindi is not their mother tongue and how it is diminishing their mother tongue, they realise their folly. if hindi was blindly taken, we wouldnt have tamil movie industry. it will be puny or zero like marati cinema or punjabi cinema and hindi will dominate. while it has no depth like south indian languages.

My friend raks, the area where highcourt is located in chennai is filled with people from rajasthan, gujrat & marathi folks and real tamilians are a minority there. the point is nobody in TN wants to stop others from practicing their cult, conversely the central government attempts to push hindi always. The National Channel (Doordarshan) has more hindi programs, what does that mean? Arent they trying to push hindi and force people to watch hindi programs?? why is that not in english?

D.S. You don't seem understand the conditions on how India formed. India is built on the concept of 'Unity under diversity'. there is no national language in India. Tamil is India's official language like Hindi. So,if you respect India as one land, then learn all the languages. don't confine it to Hindi.
And you shown learn the Language policy in Indian constitution

Mr.Arrow, please don't reply to Raks since he is using abusive language. D.S., Hindi was always pushed and lot of Tamil students got killed for opposing it. History is a lesson to remember and not to repeat again

Arrow, that was during Nehru time, do you live in those time. Nehru was an idiot, look at what his dynasty did to kashmir. Look at how much he gave away to south and west without developing those who called him Chacha. He wanted them to be backward and vote bank. Now your politicians are no different from Chacha Nehru.

I know english and so do you. It is not a passion. Many south people know many languages including german. IN malaysia, tamils speak english, tamilian and malaysian. SO LET US GET OFF LOCKING HORNS, this is what politicians want

I am not stopping you from anything, but what your politician did to pollute the environment was no less than what Nehru did to you. We were democratic, we cannot do what Malaysia and Sri-lanka do to tamils. You are free to learn, if you like Hindi people, your choice, if you don't then don't be violent and volatile to be exploited by politicians

Ds, indeed i felt hindi was being dumped on us. I dont agree with karunanidhi one bit except on tamil freedom. tamil is the oldest living language in the world not just india. i respect thackareys desire to uphold marathi. india is multicultural and multi linguistic. you cannot impose anything on a certain group. why tamilians are proud of the language is because it has rich literature spanning thousands of years. just because one wants tamil means he is not necessarily blowing karunanidh's horns.

I have plenty of friends who are gujjus & rajputs, they are very successful and chennai is their home, we meet for diwali, holi. I dont think there is discrimination in TN, Mr. DS if you differ there, I just dont agree with you.

Great leaders has great visions. They can conquer peoples heart with their gracefullness. The will never divide, the would fight for uniting divided people .. Gaandhi,Budha are good examples. All these leaders who want to divide are empty shells, their personalities can attract only the perverts, so they need to rule by dividing. History will have nothing but contempt for those who are the dividers. To quote christ who is almost alien to most christians including me ;-) ..so time to refresh what he stood for :-) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness%u2019 sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Some one please insult me haha.
