Kasargod is in Kerala, not Karnataka. Please know where places are before you write anything. Did not every state change names - Chennai, Tiruvananthapuram, Kolkota and Mumbai are examples.

Vasanth,
But if you give all these Karnataka cities to the respective states ie Kolar to TN, Raichur, Bellary to AP, Belgaon & other northern Karnataka to MS, what will actually remain with Karnataka?
Even I have heard that Bangalore is more Tamilian and less Kannadiga city? Hope this is rumour.

there is nothing wrong in changing the name of the cities to their original. dont think that i am a local kanadiga. you have to respect the culture of karnataka when you are in karnataka and learn atleast to talk in local language. dont blame karnataka for trying to keep their culture alive.

Dude Vasanth... i dont know which state you belong to... i dont care too... when the states were formed these places belonged to Karnataka.. so isnt it the insecurity of the so called minorities that they do not want a name change... if they are so attached to their mother toungue why dont these minorities migrate to some remote corners of TN, Kerala, AP and MH.. good riddance...

Think stats are wrong.. how did u deduce that they for less than 2/3 of karnataka.. Its we kannada ppl are generous enough to accomodate other people and now this is wot happening now(just like in mumbai). All the places u mentioned are properous places and other states want to have it for there for political/rich-people,s-personal cause. If its the case, when all states were divided on lingustic bases, why weren't then divided to those places then ?. Give it a thought....

Mr Vasanth the correct name for so called Bangalore is infact Bengaluru. if Bomaby can change to Mumbai, Madras to Chennai why not Bengaluru??. And as far as percentage is concerned solapur has got good % of kannadiga's so has kasargod in kerala Will these states give these districts to karnataka the answer is "No". So stop cribbing about karnataka.
