The real name of Bangalore was always Bengaluru and kannadigas always referred it to as Bengaluru. If Bombay can be mumbai, madras can be chennai whats the problem in Bengaluru

don't laugh there is a way out of this mess.

In Kolkatta all the propah people at Calcutta Club
still say Calcutta.

In Madras ... let's leave it till they
remove those dark glasses. Chennai Chenni Chinndi, (get creative now). But as far as I
know they never said Madras. They pronounced
it Med-drass.

In Mumbai only we ghats and ofcourse the Gujjus
who speak in Marathi (or Gujarati) use Mumbai.
The rest say Bumbai... which irks some of our
Marathi manoos with quirks due to our collective
inferiority complex ... but not the likes of:

Usha Kiron, Shanta Gokhale and many more some
of whom are listed below. I Have heard say
BOMBBAY.

Dinesh Keskar at Boeing

Vikram Pandi CEO of CITGROUP

Sachin Tendulkar

Kirloskars

Lokmanya TILAK

Dr Kashinath Ghanekar

V Shataram, Chitalkar Ramchandra, Vasant Desai,
Master Bhagwan, Master Dattarm, Nanda, Nootan &
Tanuja and Shobhana (their mother), Lata, Asha,
Suman Kalyanpur, Usha Mangeshkar, MadhuriDixit,
Varsha Usgaonkar, Shilpa Shirodkar, Urmila Martondkar, Namtra Shirodkar, Shobha Khote, Durga Khote, Viju Khote and so on and on ...

Those who were born or brought up in Bombay will say Bombbay.

So do you still want a beng a luru, in english,
go right ahead.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with it. Even the Govt Transport buses of neighbouring states had boards saying Bengalooru, Mysuru and Mangaluru in Telugu/Tamil/Malayalam (where applicable). So what is this fuss all about?
