agreed with you..why compare straightway to US/UK even small countries like malayasia..thailand have better road & infra than India..thing is in out country killing by terrorists is always a chance for our political parties to highligh themselves and in accidents whom they can blam not atleast Pakistan & any other religion..Did you ever see when someone die on the road any leader has ever been questioned why a accident occured in his constituency..every year we are not able to fight Dengue mosquitoes and how can we fight with terrorists..pitty..did u ever see polica Nakka(barricade) in US/UK ? and still no terrorist activities..and In India u go to highway you will see Nakka(Barricade) of police after evry 20-30 Kms and still terrorists are killing people..and top of that I dont see any end coming to this practice

Hmm so what do you suggest we do? Forget terrorism and try to get road accident death toll to 0 first? How about tackling all the diseases first, since they kill more people? If we concentrate all our energy on one cause, sure we may be able to eliminate it but in the meantime 10 new problems will emerge. Approach should be slowly cover a large number of issues. Also it is impossible to agree which is the most important issue.
The next comment concerns everything being in order in US/UK. These countries have several improvements over India, but also have several unique problems that India does not. For example, gun control. It is unfair to blindly compare us with US. They don't have the same population, same resources and also same problems. Saying "just build a good infrastructure like US/UK" is a good idea, but must be substantiated with good budget and execution. We have to worry about a lot of other problems that they don't.
Last comment regarding us being MORONS. You should simply note by comparing today's India with US 60 years after they got independence. Again comparison is unfair, but a country like ours that (inspite of so many problems) makes so much progress in 60 years does not have many other similar examples.
I'm not saying we don't have problems or that we should not criticize (in fact we need that to make the govt accountable). But making blanket judgments and blind comparisons is also extremely naive and immature.

but can you campare accident with murder... terrorist killing our near n dear ones with no mistake of our family is totally unacceptable.. while u talk about accident both are responsible in many cases the person who succumbs in not responsible but that is not done purposely...inspite of good infrastructure there are many road accidents happening in US /UK... just see mumbai pune exprees high way they have state of the art roads but still accidents happen.... sometimes we cant blame government blindly

I think the biggest problem we are facing is the population and the implementation of reforms. People can argue that china is more populous than us. Agreed, but over there - if the government wants to develop infrastructure be it dams or roads, you won't hear of protests, b'cos it's a communist government. The three gorges dam displaced over 1.4 million people and it was done.. Can you imagine that happening in India without protests, court cases (they take their own sweet time) etc. A relatively small project to build an expressway to connect the new hyderabad airport to the city won't complete on time because the people whose properties are being taken up for this project have approached the courts and you know how much time it will take.... Population control - less said the better... And now the law ministry is actively thinking of a proposal to bring down the marriage age among boys to 18. At least till now for the fear of law, a percentage of population was not multiplying themselves so early in life. with this proposal, have another boom. We go on comparing India with US and UK, but we always forget the two important facts: 1. US is huge in size and is rich with resources but less workforce to exploit it. So it can grow. 2. UK - well they looted the whole world and have enough resources ;)

Agreed to an extent with SK. Well a top down approach is required in order to build new India. It can be started from any area because everything is dirty. It's a good opportunity for a political leader to make his career by improving basic necesscity.

@SK If u dont spend millions in counter operations, then terrorism will grow further more leading to more kills...
