What a dilemma Musharaff is in now!
by Sebastian Cherukanam on Feb 19, 2008 12:16 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

What a situation Musharaff is in! If he uses the Army against the terrorists, extremists and fundamentalists, he will be called a dictator. When he doesn't do so, leaders like Benazir blame him saying that enough protection was not given to her. When he vowed to conduct the election, all declared that he would rig the election. If he deploys Army for a fair election, he becomes a dictator again. If he doesn't do so, he will be made responsible for the law and order situation. If he wins the election, all already declared that it would be through rigging. If he doesn't win, no one is there to appreciate him for conducting a fair election, instead will start talking of impeachment or execution. Can anyone tell, what should he do in order to please everyone? Don't say that he should step down because stepping down at this juncture will only help to double the trouble in Pakistan. Now it is certain that he or his party will not win election and please, at least now appreciate him for his bold steps to bring democracy in Pakistan even putting his life in danger. Hearty congratulations, Musharaff. I salute you.

I predict more tension in the Indian sub-continent in his absence. There will have not much difference if it is PPP or Nawaz Sherif, which forms Government there.

Mush i hypocrite who can run with the hare and hunt with the wolves. Best exit route for him is what was shown to Saddam and Bhutto, for the sins of having nurtured the terrorism in Pak and Afganistan and continuously disturbing peace loving communities in India just to please a segment of his country's population. His days are numbered, rather hours. Watch out.

Sear Sebastian,
What a sympathy u have got for Parvej Musharraf! Will u explain the source? There is nothing to appreciate to bring democracy, it is the most basic requirement for a country and a leader's basic duty is that. Moreover he was never interested to bring democracy to Pakistan which is evident from his commitment after commitment and go away from it with all sorts of lame excuses to enjoy the benefit of a number 12th worst dictator as has been rated to him according to the front page Times of India news paper.
