Creation of Pakistan was a blunderous conspiracy hatched by the West to continue its policy of divide and rule and ensure their presence in the sub-continent through a weak and pliable Palistani State. This artificial construct state could never become a Nation and remained a "puppet" of USA used by them as a base of operations against the former USSR.Ironically it is now engaged in trying to destroy the very forces it had created to defeat Russia in Afghanistan without much sucess leaving Pakistan in a state of turbulence and turmoil. The current level of violence has taken the country on the threshold of a full scale civil war threatening the very existence of the state as a civilised country. It is to be seen whether a country deeply divided ethnically and at war with itself can survive as a single entity or breaks up in small individual units under the control of extremists/fundamentalists and foreign powers like China and USA.In such an eventuality we may have to be ready to act in unison with USA to assert our authority and work towards a re-merger as a federation or at least a confederation with that country. We must remain alert and prepared for all possible eventualities including a long drawn out militant conflict and strife within Pakistan which may spill over in our country in some measure.

Very carefully drafted message Mr. Badri Raizada. You have communicated in one para, everything about Pakistan and as rightly said by you, we need to be prepared for the eventualities. Further, it is a proven fact, time and again, Pakistan politics can survive only when they keep hating India publically. The moment they are friends with us, their parties gets defeated in the elections.

Musharaff once told that the border between India and Pakistan should be made irrelevant. I fully agree with that. I had/have an even broader suggestion and that is the re-unification of Bangladesh, India and Pakistan and I say that is the only way for a permanent solution to the Kashmir dispute. I have an even broader suggestion that all the borders in this world should be made irrelevant. Do not say that it is impossible. Did you not see the re-unification of East and West Germany even when both had entirely different political lines? If someone were suggesting this a half century ago, people would have laughed at that saying that idea as ridiculous. We have European Union now. These are all proven possibilities and you can see the invaluable advantages it brings in those nations. However, to make such things possible, there are certain unavoidable things that should be in place like an atmosphere conducive enough to sow the seed, a mature generation, a broad consensus and above all, a clear vision understood and accepted by all of a bright future where all the parties involved will be at the beneficiaries end.
