Ajanta and Ellora have many erotic statues. Some of them depict gay sex.
Due to a curse, Arjuna in Mahabharatha lives like a "feminine man" for a year during the "ajnaatha vaasa". He may not have been "gay", but at least "half men" are not new to Indian culture.
Similarly, "Shikhandi" who killed Bhishma in Mahabharatha is a woman born as a man. He too is considered to be a "half-man", though he may not be "gay".
Ancient Indian culture in the past has been open to all forms of sexuality and is the most liberal culture that ever lived on this planet.
This "conservative" culture that we see in today's India was not there in the past, before Muslims and Christians came into this country.

Deeraj, It seems you are sick of Mahabharatha, don't you have any thing to say in fact than fiction?
What do you mean by saying ancient Indian culture? The ancient Indian who lived in this land before 2500 years are the Scheduled Tribes; not aryans like you and me.
Your ancient culture taught untouchability, sati etc? look back on history and learn lessons from it, take the good and leave behind the bad.

Mahabharatha is not fiction. It is based on facts. So, too is Ramayana. Both of them have fiction, but they are not entirely fiction. They are based on facts. They are called "itihaasa", meaning history.
Both of them date back to more than 5000 years. They were not "scheduled tribes" as you say.
You said we are "aryans". The Aryan-Dravidian theory is pure trash. It is a theory propounded by Britishers and Western historians to keep India divided. It is part of their divide and rule policy.
Our ancient culture did not teach untouchability and sati. These derogatory practices have came up in the recent history (less than 1000 years).
When Muslims invaded India, the Rajput wives burnt themselves to escape from the Muslim rulers. That is how sati became a common practice. Prior to that, women did not practise sati.

It seems you are bitten by the Hindutva snake... corrupting and fictional history.
What do you mean by partly fictional? Where is the Ravanas 10 heads? where are the bones of Asuras? (we have the remains of dinasaurs etc. dates back to millions of years) Who gave birth to 100 children with her blood? Which monkey flew in the air for 100 miles? Where is the uprooted mountain?
Don't you have any good books to read and learn from?

It was not that women practiced Sati. They are forced to Sati... Read the history throughly, no coverups.
