Majority of the Maharashtrians don't support MNS

Hello Mr. Tarun vijay,

I am slightly disappointed by your article. As a media person, you have a responsibility to present a balanced view on things. I don't think you have done that.

You must not conclude that all Maharashtrians support the stand taken by the MNS sainiks.

Most of us realise that all the non-Maharashtrians who have come to Maharashtra do a lot of good work wherever they are.

But maybe you chose to ignore the view of the majority because it suits you and provides you with an oppurtunity to point out the various divisions in the Indian society and particularly the Maharashtrian society.

Most Maharashtrians respect the non-Maharashtrians because of who they are. If you convert to a Maratha, or any of the other Maharashtrian castes, then there is a good chance that this respect will diminish a little.

We respect people who are willing to fight for their rights and identity.

Hope you will find the strength to do what is right rather than do what is easy.

Also, the Shiv Sena has in the past raised the issue of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and tried to send a few back to their country. The Mumbai police oficers were attacked in West Bengal. The Mumbai police didn't get any support at that time.

you are right but the majority doesn't come out to vote either. Neither will they come out to stop Raj and his goons from the hatred mongering activities.

Hi Gautam,

Your point about the majority of people of Maharashtrian origin not voicing their opposition against MNS activists is valid.

But is this true only about people of Maharashtrian origin or is it generally applicable to people of Indian origin?

Do you think that people will come out against Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav; people from Bihar will do the same against Lalloo Yadav; .....?

The people of Maharashtrain origin fear MNS as much as the people of non-Maharashtrian origin. If the police can not protect the office of the big media channel, then the common person has no chance or the common person percieves that he / she stands no chance against the "Goondagardi" of MNS sainiks. So they probably keep quiet.

I can't say that this is true for every single one of the people. But it is true for majority of the people.
