Amongst all the chaos that a beautiful city and appears as each day dawns, the whole state of Maharashtra is going through, everybody seems to ignore the real issue. Least is expected out of the politicians, because they are just interested in their vote/note banks, but the other very important pillar of our democracy, the media has turned a blind eye towards the issue. They just show how MNS/SP workers riot and try to show their domination over a city. People like Pranoy Roy, Rajdeep Sardesai, who spend countless hours awarding "Indians of the year" should at least start talking about it.
What is causing the people to flock from one state to the other ? Isn't it because there is a financial imbalance in the states ? Shouldn't UP/Bihar receive extra importance and the situation be improved to provide ample job opportunities to all living in those states? Instead the politicians just encourage them to migrate to Mumbai? What an ingenious solution!
The five year plans the centre makes should have special quotas for the underprivilaged states to get them at par with the developed ones. Why should they be left behind ? Bihar is one of the highest Coal producing states in India. UP is one of the leading agricultural states. The problems in these states cannot be overlooked by saying that all Indians have the right to go and live anywhere in the country. Sure they have, but will you let me just walk in to your house and do whatever i want ? Think about it!
