First of all kam dear, I am not a Marathi guy. I am from AP, a Telugu guy. So don't think I am a Maratha fundamentalist defending Shivaji.
1. Working with British??? Dude, during the time of Shivaji, the British were nowhere in the picture.
2. At that time, the central government in Delhi was that of Aurangazeb. It was NOT a democracy. And Hindus were persecuted and treated as second class citizens. Hindus also had to pay Jiziya tax. Shivaji was the ray of hope for the Hindus of that era. he was the beacon of freedom.
3. Shivaji never disrespected women. He treated them with utmost respect. Once, after a war was over, a Maratha general offered Shivaji an extremely beautiful Muslim lady who was the daughter-in-law of a defeated muslim Amir of Kalyan, Maharashtra. But Shivaji sent her back to her family, unmolested.

Marathas did side the British and fought patriots like Tipu sultan. Though Shivaji was not involved in it.

You need to read your history man- British came to India during the time of Shah Jehan (the father of Auranzeb). The British polluted the Indian history to divide Hindus and Muslim as it is happening today in some war torn country. Every government charges taxes (Jaziya). Aurangeb was the most honest king that India ever had. Tell me who is better Aurangez or the rulers of today in India, Pak, and Bangladesh where everyone is looting the people and treasury. Be honest otherwise you will burn in hell. Aurangzeb%u2019s chief of staff was Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Auranzeb wife was a Hindu and he had a son from her just like Jehangir was son of a Hindu mother. Look what happened to our country %u2013 Bharat mata- that has been divided into three and millions died in 1947 and still you do not understand the history written by the enemies of Indian. india was divided into two, not three. bangladesh came out of dividing pakistan. blame the brits for that too?
