What's up with HP?
by T D on Feb 07, 2008 11:15 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I was checking the indian state rankings on wikipedia and noticed that Himachal Pradesh seems to consistently stand out from most of the other north indian states. While UP and Bihar rank consistently at the bottom, HP ranks amongst the better developed south Indian states.

So, my question is what's up with HP? Have they suddenly become more industrialised?

UP and Bihar are bimaru because of Mayawati and other bikau politickas like Lalu, Muliyum, Paswan, Nitish and Soniya and her poniyas.

When i visited HP, tourism industry was the biggest industry there. They have invested a lot in tourism - guest houses, hotels, buses, and services - and they are gifted with natural beauty...
Locals are really sweet and helpful, adding to the experience there - which is what a tourist wants - and in turn which is what HP wants - more tourists.

Interesting. Though, if you look at typical tourist destination, they don't show the kind of all round development that HP's statistics seem to indicate. HP on the other hand is ranked 4th on literacy, which is not directly related to tourism. Someone is doing something right by its people. I'm not from HP but I'm happy for its people.
