u r right, rudresh.I have many times visited bangalore and have been pleased by the warm and hospitality which I have got from local kannad people during interaction. They have accepted north indians as their brothers and have ill-feelings(which you will find in plentiful among local tamilians against northies living in tamil nadu).

If any South Indian city has regionalistic chauvinism, it's Chennnai!

If any South Indian state has regionalistic chauvinism, it's Tamil Nadu!

You contradict what you say. Karnataka is the only state in south india where there is regional chauvinism against migrants.

Dear Manohar,

Karnataka is the only place in South India where migrants are made to feel at home. Have you lived in Chennai or Hyd or Kochi??

What happens is because of this open arm treatment given to the migrants, they try to take things for granted instead of becoming one with the local population. And when that happens, they are shown their place. This is not chauvinism. This is practical way of life.

If there is such chauvinism, it doesn't seem to be working. I still see North Indians infest Bangalore.
