Hindi is NOT THE national language
by GR on Feb 07, 2008 05:26 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

This message is for people who seem to be under that wrong impression

Hindi is ONE of the recognized languages. The Indian constitution does not declare any language as a NATIONAL language.

To people who still don't understand, I got two words :-)

Hindi is most spoken and understood in certain parts of India. Elsewhere, its English. I say it as I see it. If it weren't for English language, we would not be able to gain a foothold in the world economy.

And after seeing countless North Indians, I have concluded that despite learning English, they are unable to leave behind the rustic and boorish tendencies ingrained in Hindi.
