Kashmir Dispute is Already Solved
by outspoken on Feb 06, 2008 05:24 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The world has changed after 11th September 2001 and there is no Kashmir dispute. The UN has bowed to the aspiration of peace and cooperation. Now the dispute is in maintaining so many Generals or throwing them out than spending the money to feed, house and educate the ordinary Pakistani so that he is not exploited by religious and drug mafia and made to live as a terrorist than serving his family and society.

Mushraff is wise to see this change.

Dear outspoken,
You are right but partially . Actually the best solution to the Kashmir tangle , created because of the weak-kneed policies of Nehru, is recognising the LOC as the actual border as both sides should have a fair share of the pie. UN security council resolutions on Kashmir died natural deaths long ago ,a new war between the two nations will lead to unforeseen consequences because of nuclear arsenal possessed by both the nations. Moreover, left to themselves , the majority Muslims of Srinagar valley will prefer collective amnesia on 'Jihad' for Kashmir and sleep peacefully .But the government of India and the self-appointed guardians of Hindus must play their cards carefully.
