Looking at the issues of Mumbai and Marathi, I challenge to have an open debate at Shivaji Park grounds against any politician. I am a naturalised Maharashtrian and can speak/read/write better Marathi than any local.
The issues faced every day by a common Mumbaikar are :
01) Water availability
02) Hygienic living conditions and
03) Comfortable commute
Any other issue is ridiculous. Mumbai has equal job opportunities, space to live and courage to unite. If one is a politician - irrespective of whether in power or poosition - I would like to know, what the person has done with his own hands. Dividing people is easy, I can do it with my oratory skills.

If there are 10 trainloads of bhaiyyas coming in every day, where do you think the water is going to come from to feed the population? This applies to all the resources needed for the city. The basic problem is the failed states of UP and Bihar. The result is the en-masse migration to Mumbai. And how do you propose we handle them, give them our homes and land and start speaking the bhaiyya language?

as i have said before in various forums in different websites.. I'll say it again... in India.. politics is not a career a person who is genuinely selfless and wants to do good can enter.. there is no way he/she can survive.. the current lot are far too powerful

There is a difference between being powerful and having a nuisance value. The current politicians have more of the later !

no politician will ever come face to face with the common man in a debate because he/she knows they will be slammed.
